Five killed in mosque bombing in Pakistan

Analysts Denounce Contradictory Discourse of Arab Parliamentarians about Syria

Cairo, March 22 (PL-RHC) Some politicians and diplomats condemned the contradictory discourse of the Arab Parliament about Syria, which claims to reject any foreign interference while also calling for the resignation of President Bashar Al-Assad. Western analysts criticize the resolution of the regional legislative organization, adopted at the first session of 2012 in Cairo.

French Minister Says Shooting Suspect Dead

Toulouse, March 22 (Xinhua-RHC) French Interior Minister Claude Gueant confirmed on Thursday that the suspect of an al-Qaeda-linked killing spree in southern France is dead after exchanging fire with the police. Gueant said two police officers were injured.

Military Coup Takes Over in Mali

Bamako, March 22 (Xinhua-RHC) -- Malian mutineers declared the takeover of power from President Amadou Toumani Toure on Thursday morning. The takeover was announced on state radio by Lieutenant Amadou Konare, spokesman for a National Committee for Redressment of Democracy and Restoration of the State (CNRDR), which seized the state television and the presidential palace in the capital Bamako on Wednesday.

Syria Denounces Terrorist Attack in Daraa Province

Damascus, March 21 (Xinhua-RHC) -- A suicide bomber riding a car bomb blew himself up late Tuesday in Syria's southern Daraa province, killing an unidentified number of civilians and law-enforcement members. National media denounced that this latest attack, which is said to be the tenth act of terrorism since last December, resulted in more than 300 deaths, 657 wounded, and significant material damage. This was the latest of a series of attacks over the last several days.
