Eurozone Unemployment Hits Record High

Brussels, May 2 (RHC)-- Unemployment across the 17-member Eurozone rose by 169,000 in March -- according to official figures released Wednesday -- taking the rate up to 10.9 percent in March.  The European Statistical Office notes that the jobless rate is at its highest level since the Euro was launched in 1999.

Eleven Killed in Egyptian Clashes

Cairo, May 2 (RHC)-- At least 11 people have reportedly been killed and dozens more wounded in Egypt on Wednesday in clashes between protesters and unidentified attackers outside the Defense Ministry in Cairo.  Many of the protesters were supporters of the conservative Islamist candidate Hazem Salah Abu Ismail who was ejected from the presidential race because his mother has dual Egyptian-U.S. citizenship.
