Pope Finalizes Visit´s Activities in Havana
Havana, March 28 (RHC) Archbishop of Havana, Cardinal Jaime Ortega Alamino, thanked Pope Benedict XVI for “having included Cuba in this trip and coming as a pilgrim in this Jubilee year.” At the beginning of the Mass celebrated by the Pope at Havana’s Revolution Square on Wednesday morning, Ortega Alamino also thanked His Holiness for visiting the National Shrine of the Virgin of Charity of El Cobre in Santiago de Cuba, where he worshiped and prayed for all Cubans before the statue of the Cuban Patron Saint.
The Archbishop of Havana noted that, since his arrival in Santiago de Cuba for his first visit to the Caribbean nation, Benedict XVI has had kind words and gestures toward the Cuban people and he expressed his gratitude on behalf of all of them.
