Cuban VP Machado Ventura meets with WHO Director-Gen

Havana, March 30, (RHC), -- Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, met with Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO).

alt The meeting addressed issues essential to strengthening of cooperation between Cuba´s Public Health Ministry and the World Health Organization.

Dr. Chan attended on March 26 the first-ever meeting of the agency's regional directors held in Cuba.

During the meeting, were also present Dr. Mirtha Roses Periago, director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and the representative of that institution in Cuba,Dr. Jose Luis di Favio.

On the Cuban side attended doctors Roberto Morales Ojeda and Marcia Cobas Ruiz, minister and deputy minister of Public Health respectively.
