Cuban President Raul Castro Bids Farewell to Venezuelan President
Havana, April 5, (RHC), -- Cuban President,Raul Castro, bid farewell overnight Wednesday to his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez, who concluded his second round of radiation treatment for cancer in Cuba.
Upon his arrival to Caracas, Chavez said the cycle of radiation “has been a success.”
Chavez also said that continued medical examinations have shown signs of positive recovery.
The president, who is in the midst of his re-election campaign, is expected to continue his radiation treatment in Havana for a few weeks more, but return home for brief periods between treatment.
Chavez completed the first and second rounds in Havana, where he had surgery last month to remove a malignant tumour in the same area where another tumour was excised in June 2011.
