International Congress on Information Kicks off in Havana
Havana, April 16 (RHC) -- The XII International Congress of Information (INFO 2012) kicks off this Monday at the Havana’s International Conference Center with the slogan “Building a knowledgeable society and its impact on socio-economic development and sovereignty”.
Carmen Sanchez Rojas, general director of the Institute of Scientific and Technological Information (IDICT), which organizes the event, told reporters that in a parallel manner they will hold the IX International Workshop on Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management Company (IntEmpres 2012).
Among the main topics in INFO 2012, Sanchez Rojas mentioned open access to information, technological and informational sovereignty, information technology and communication, and professional challenges of this sector.
During the first day prizes and awards will be given to national and foreign personalities and institutions with distinguished work in the field.
Another activity of strong interest for participants will be the Exhibition of Computer and Information Products (ExpoInfo'2012) until April 20th.
Delegates and exhibitors will have the opportunity to participate in conferences, forums, discussions, seminars, workshops and poster sessions.
The congress is sponsored, by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Network of Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal among others.
