51st Anniversary of Bay of Pigs Invasion Commemorated

Havana, April 19 (RHC) -- Thousands of Salvadorans celebrated the 51st anniversary of the Cuban Victory over United States Bay of Pigs invasion. During the event at the Nuestra America Cultural Center in San Salvador, the documentary, Muerte al Invasor (Death to the Invader) was shown.

This documentary related the bare facts of how the Cuban people achieved a resounding victory against the invaders in just three days. Also, in Hanoi, the vice president of the Cuba-Vietnam association, Guyen Duy Cuong, expressed that this victory at Playa Giron had a huge impact on imperialism, where in barely 72 hours the Cuban military forces defeated the mercenaries. At Giron, Cubans achieved a victory over 1,500 men, trained and financed by the government of the United States.
