Cuba Debates on Organic Agriculture

Havana, May 21 (RHC) -- More than 400 delegates from 22 countries are discussing the need to achieve food sovereignty through sustainable ecological agriculture from Monday to Thursday.

The president of the Cuban Association of Agricultural and Forestry Technicians, Idalmis Nazco, said that the 9th International Meeting on Organic and Sustainable Agriculture will propose ecological and integrative productive models.


It will also present the most relevant results of the national ecological agriculture and rural movement, emerged from the application in the island of a popular agriculture.

Experts from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the United States, Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Martinique, Japan, Costa Rica, Venezuela among others, will exchange experiences in the sphere and propose solutions.

World Economy Research Center director Osvaldo Martinez will give a master conference on the global food situation during the opening ceremony today.
