Parliament Commissions Debate Crucial Issues for Cuban Development

Havana, July 20 (RHC) -- Cuban parliamentarians are gathering in working commissions this weekend to analyze crucial issues for the country’s life and economic development, prior to the 9th Session of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) to take place July 23 and 24. Previously, the lawmakers held a plenary session to consider reports by several state entities.

On their agenda the different commissions will analyze issues of interest to the population and the Cuban state, such as the sale and distribution of agricultural goods in urban areas; agricultural development plans in mountainous zones; the preparations for the Population and Housing census to be conducted in September; initiatives to boost the use of renewable energy sources, as well as the measures adopted to fight corruption, social indiscipline and other illegalities in the country.

On Thursday, the National Water Resources Institute and the Higher Education ministry submitted their reports to the deputies in a plenary session.
