Havana, July 20 (RHC) -- After crossing the US/Mexico border on Thursday, the 23rd Pastors for Peace Friendshipment Caravan to Cuba once again challenged Washington’s economic, financial and commercial blockade of Cuba.

According to a report by the Cuban news agency, US authorities seized six equipments from the 100-ton humanitarian aid for the people of Cuba; however, Caravan members said they will make all possible efforts to recover them and bring them to the island.

The caravan crossed the US/Mexican border through the Pharr and the Hidalgo bridges, in Texas, with coverage by Mexican TV channels, and headed for the Tampico port to ship the cargo to Cuba.

The humanitarian aid is made up of medicine and equipment, such as x-rays machines, and incubators, and school and sports supplies. The caravanistas are expected to arrive in Havana on Saturday where they will mark the 20th anniversary of the caravans, initiated by the Reverend Lucius Walker, who passed away in 2010.

Caravan members come from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe. The humanitarian initiative has sent 23 caravans to Cuba in open defiance of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba.
