International Construction Fair opens in Havana
The International Construction Fair, Fecons 2012 opened Tuesday at the capital’s PABEXPO showground in Havana, with the participation of more than 195 exhibitors from 26 countries.
Under the slogan “Constructions: Guaranteeing the Future” national and foreign entrepreneurs show a wide gamut of materials, machinery and the latest technologies.
Angel Vilaragut Montes de Oca, president of the organizing committee of the event, which will run until Sunday, considered the participation of a large number of foreign companies as a demonstration of the confidence the Cuban market has achieved over the last few years.
He pointed out that the meeting favor the exchange of experiences with important producers and suppliers at an international level, as well as the introduction of technologies and associated supplies.
In this regard, Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, told the press that search for new technical advances and their introduction onto the island will favor greater efficiency in investment processes.
Likewise, Fecons 2012 makes it possible for builders, designers and producers of construction materials to acquire technical and specialized knowledge, in order to imbue fresh impetus to this priority sector.
Also attending the opening ceremony were Commander of the Revolution Guillermo Garcia; Vice-president of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, and Rene Mesa, Minister of Construction. (ACN)
