Cuban Dayron Robles to Diamond League in the U.S.
Cuban 110-meters hurdler Dayron Robles will participate in 2 competitions included in the IAAF Diamond League, scheduled for the US cities Eugene and New York in June.
Robles, Olympic champion and current world record holder (12.87 seconds) in the 110-meter hurdles, will then run for the first time in the United States, said Cuban athletics commissioner Jorge Luis Aguilera to Prensa Latina news agency.
The Cuban runner is training now for London Olympics, and his last performance was in the PonceGrand Prix where he finished 4th with a 13.47-second time.
Robles will be joined in the U.S.races by his teammate Orlando Ortega to compete against world outdoors champion Jason Richardson, indoors world champion Aries Merrit, and the bronze medalist in Beijing David Olivier, all of them from the United States.
