News Archer Stevens Achieves Silver Medal at World Cup

Cuban archer Juan Carlos Stevens won the silver medal at the World Cup of Archery, Recurve specialty, based in the national Vasil Levski Sofia stadium in Bulgaria.
Stevens, 5th place in Beijing Olympics 2008, lost in the final 2-6 (26-26, 25-28, 28-28 and 26-27) to Israeli Guy Matzkin.
Previously, the outstanding Santiago de Cuba’s athlete defeated Armenian Vasil Shahnazaryan 6-5 for the playoff, then beat French Thomas Aubert 7-3, later surpassed Russian Timur Tuchinov by 6-2, and finally overtook the Spanish David Callejas 6-2 in the semifinals.
