French Leftist Front Marches in Paris for Presidential Campaign
Paris, March 19 (RHC) The French Leftist Front marched in support of its presidential candidate, Jean Luc Mélenchon in Paris.
The party is in 5th place according to the polls, but has shown great energy in increasing its votes over the last weeks, raising its place to 11%. More than 120 thousand people, including youth, women, and working-class and retired people, marched through the streets of the capital, concluding the march at the Bastille Plaza, a symbol of the French Revolution. In his speech before the people, Mélenchon said “We are the cry of the people.” He spoke about some elements of his proposed work program, such as raising the minimum wage, limiting the salaries of big public businesses, and normalizing undocumented migrant workers.
