Over 200 Aftershocks Hit Mexico after March 20th Quake
Mexico City, March 28 (Prensa Latina-RHC) -- At least 201 aftershocks of the earthquake that shook Mexico on March 20th had been reported until March 26th by the National Seismological Service.
On Tuesday alone, five earthquakes, ranging from 3.7 to 4.1 on the Richter scale, were reported in the region bordering the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero.
Local authorities in the two states reported that the 7.8 quake that shook the region eight days ago damaged 53,000 schools, some of which will be demolished.
Meanwhile, Mexican President Felipe Calderon urged the federal government to speed up the release of resources to rebuild 15,000 houses, from a total of 30,000 damaged in 29 municipalities, El Universal newspaper reported.
