Students in Spain Pay More for University Tuition
Madrid, April 20 (RHC)-- Students in Spain will pay more for their tuition at public universities beginning next year, according to reports from Madrid, as part of drastic cuts in education. Currently, the university pays about 1000 Euros per year for education in schools of higher learning.
With the proposal to be approved Friday by the Council of Ministers, Spanish students will pay tuition for the first 15 to 25 percent above the current rate, which will mean an average payout of 540 Euros per course.
According to the new measures, the second and subsequent entries will incur an increase of 30 to 100 percent. The education cuts are part of a three billion-Euro budget cutback by the ruling Popular Party of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
