Moscow, May 11 (Xinhua-RHC) Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov warned that Russia is ready to destroy U.S. missile defense facilities in Europe if Moscow considers them as real threats.

Serdyukov said that the Russian forces would not need any additional means to fulfill that task as the existing Iskander missiles are capable of neutralizing the U.S. launching facilities. He said Moscow is still waiting for U.S. proposals on the disputed missile defense system in Europe. Moscow has long opposed the deployment of U.S. missile defense facilities near its borders and called for legally binding guarantees from the United States and NATO that the missile shield is not targeting Russia
