Syria Militarily Ready to Face Any Foreign Aggression

Damascus, July 11 (RHC)-- The Syrian Army says it is ready to face any foreign aggression against the country, following troop manuevers and live-fire exercises in the Mediterranean region of the country.  The air and sea military manuevers were designed to test the defense capabilities of the Syrian armed forces.

Gen. Dawood Rajha Abdalla, Syrian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, praised the skill of the troops taking part in the military exercises.  He noted that Syria was able to launch various types of missiles, with a high-level of accuracy.

The Syrian Army on Tuesday continued military exercises for the fourth consecutive day with the participation of units from the Air Force, which conducted a tactical operation using live-fire simulating real battle conditions.

Fighter aircraft performed the tasks of repelling virtual enemy air strikes, while bombers took part in carrying out the tasks of destroying targets, with attack helicopters providing support to the ground forces.
