Mexico City, July 30 (RHC) -- Presidential candidate for the leftist Progressive Movement, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, said Monday that he will continue his struggle for the democracy and dignity of Mexico, during one of 142 information meetings held in the country.
Speaking from the Mexican state of Nezahualcóyotl, one of the regions with the highest rates of poverty and marginalization, Lopez Obrador said that the Electoral Court of Judicial Power of the Federation has enough information and evidence to invalidate the presidential election.
In additional comments on the electoral process, he said the request for invalidation of the July 1stpresidential race is based on alleged failure to comply with Article 41 of the Constitution, which states that elections must be free and fair, according to a press release.
Lopez Obrador reiterated that he, and the coalition he represents, will always act peacefully, without violence, stressing that the Progressive Movement has been, is and will be a peaceful organization. He also said that evidence proving the misuse of funds in the campaign of Enrique Peña Nieto will be presented at the capital’s Zocalo Plaza on August 12th.
These information meetings are being held with the purpose of gathering evidence provided by citizens about alleged irregularities in the recent presidential elections.
