Iraq: July Was Deadliest Month in Nearly 2 Years

Baghdad, August 4 (RHC)-- The Iraqi government has confirmed that July was Iraq’s deadliest month in nearly two years.  Official figures show 325 people were killed, most of them civilians.

The report says that 697 people were wounded in escalating violence in Iraq during the month of July.  The monthly toll included Iraq’s deadliest day in nearly three years -- when attacks in 19 cities left up to 106 people dead on July 23rd
