Workers
with the Oil Drilling Company in central Cuba have produced
over 886,000 tons of crude oil this year and they expect
to close their annual schedule with one of the largest
oil outputs in the history of that company. 
A
three-year project aimed at improving the quality of
Cuban public services through the training of workers
on the job concluded in three Cuban provinces with the
support of Canada's Dalhousie University.
As
part of the country’s strategy to update the Cuban
economy, a group of measures were announced this week
by President Raul Castro during the plenary session of
the Cuban Parliament.
The
Cuban economy is currently faced with challenges
that stem from the current global financial
crisis which have had a big impact on the
country’s Gross Domestic Product.
However this indicator is expected to grow
this year despite current difficulties,
according to official estimates.
